Jackson double ends Man City's perfect start as Villa win 2-1

Sky Sports reports that Jackson scored both Villa goals, with Erling Haaland's strike for City proving no more than a consolation as Enzo Maresca's unbeaten run came to an end (Sky Sports). The Guardian frames it as a meeting of "the two most in-form strikers in England", with Jackson coming out on top as City's perfect record "vanished" at Villa Park (The Guardian).

BBC Sport focuses on Jackson's remarkable start to life at Villa, describing him as going from "Chelsea reject" to a Watkins "upgrade" after his match-winning double against City (BBC Sport). In a separate piece, the BBC also notes the bigger picture for Villa, pointing out that the win made it four successive victories in all competitions while also ending City's perfect start to the league season (BBC Sport).

All four reports agree on the key facts: a 2-1 scoreline at Villa Park, a Jackson double, and a Haaland goal that counted for little as City suffered their first Premier League defeat. Where they differ is in emphasis - Sky Sports and The Guardian lead on the result ending City's unbeaten record, while the BBC's coverage leans more into what the win and Jackson's form mean for Villa specifically, including that four-game winning run in all competitions (BBC Sport).

It's a huge statement result for Villa against the reigning champions, and with Jackson now firmly looking like one of the Premier League's form strikers, there will be plenty of confidence heading into the trip to Bournemouth next.
