Aston Villa Women v Liverpool Women live: score, updates and line-ups

Full time: Aston Villa Women 2-1 Liverpool Women. A famous win against the run of play for Villa, who were second best for long spells and finished the match with just 32.6% possession and 7 shots to Liverpool's 23. Grant's fast-break finish cancelled out Ramos' early opener, and Fisk's own goal from a Villa corner proved decisive, with Okuma superb between the sticks - racking up eight saves including a huge stop from Endemann deep into stoppage time to deny Liverpool an equaliser. A gutsy, backs-to-the-wall display earns Villa all three points.

Liverpool have continued to throw everything at Villa in search of an equaliser, with Kapocs twice going close - a header saved brilliantly by Okuma and another drifting wide - while Clark also headed off target. Villa have held firm though, with Patten needing a brief stoppage for treatment, and despite Liverpool's continued dominance of the ball and shot count, it's Villa who go into stoppage time clinging to that 2-1 lead.

What a turnaround! Grant's fast-break finish levelled things after Okuma had kept Villa in it, and then Fisk's own goal from a Villa corner has flipped the game on its head. Liverpool are still dominating the ball and forced Okuma into another big save from Bergström, but somehow it's Villa leading 2-1 as the game enters the final stretch.

Villa have finally found a bit more life in this one - Imuran and Vangsgaard both forced decent saves out of Keating, and Deslandes nodded a header wide from a corner as Villa racked up four corners in the last ten minutes alone. Liverpool still lead the shot count comfortably and had a sight of goal through Kapocs, but the momentum has shifted slightly Villa's way as they push for an equaliser at 0-1.

Villa made a half-time change, bringing on Imuran for Murphy, but the pattern hasn't shifted early in the second half - Liverpool have had the game's only chance since the restart, Nagano firing just wide from outside the box after Bernabé was flagged offside. Okuma hasn't been seriously tested again yet, but Villa still need to find a foothold in possession if they're to get back into this.

Liverpool have continued to pour forward and Okuma has had to be at her best, producing three more saves to deny Kapocs twice and Enderby, keeping the deficit at just one. Villa did finally muster a shot through Grant, but with 10 attempts to Liverpool's one and just a third of the possession, it's been one-way traffic heading into the break.

Liverpool continue to dominate and Villa are chasing shadows - Okuma had to be alert to deny Enderby, while Olsson's header just now drifted off target. Villa still haven't managed a shot of their own as they trail 0-1.

Liverpool have had the better of the opening quarter, dominating possession and forcing the only shot of the game so far through Kapocs, though her effort was blocked. Villa have had to defend for long spells without conceding anything clear-cut, with the game mostly stopping for free kicks won by Maritz and Enderby in between.
