Barcelona v Aston Villa live: score, updates and line-ups

Full time at Camp Nou: Barcelona 3-0 Aston Villa. Yamal's early finish set the hosts on their way, before Raphinha's double either side of the hour mark - the first teed up by Fermín López, the second from Cancelo's assist - did the real damage. Villa huffed and puffed late on through Mbaye and Barkley but couldn't find a way back, and three minutes of stoppage time at the end brought no change as Suzuki had to deny Yamal once more. A thoroughly chastening night for Villa against a dominant Barcelona side.

Villa have shown some late spirit without threatening a way back into this one. They won a string of free-kicks and corners to ease the pressure, and Abraham headed narrowly wide from Mbaye's cross after coming on, while Alysson has also been introduced. Barcelona still look comfortable on the ball with Yamal and Gordon both firing off target, and the corner count shows Villa's willingness to push forward even at 3-0 down.

This is becoming a nightmare evening for Villa. Raphinha grabs his second of the game, turning home from close range after João Cancelo's assist, and Barcelona have put three past them inside 64 minutes despite the triple change Villa had just made.

A sucker punch for Villa. Raphinha slots in from the centre of the box after being teed up by Fermín López, and Barcelona double their lead just after the hour mark of real pressure. Villa now have a mountain to climb at Camp Nou.

Barcelona have started the second half the stronger side, forcing Suzuki into another good save from Yamal before Fermín López had a blocked effort and a header wide following a corner. Villa are enduring a spell of pressure without the ball right now, with Maatsen having to win a free kick to ease the hosts' momentum, and the shot count has crept further in Barcelona's favour since the break.

Villa have actually had the better of this spell despite Barcelona's dominance on the ball. Manzambi forced another good save out of García, Jackson saw a shot blocked, and Villa have picked up corners too, while at the other end Suzuki did well to keep out Fermín López's header. It's been a scrappier passage with Buendía booked, but Villa head towards the break only a goal down and have shown enough to suggest a leveller isn't beyond them.

Barcelona continue to see most of the ball at Camp Nou and almost had a second when Gordon's effort from the centre of the box was well held by Suzuki. Villa are having to defend in spells - Jackson's needless handball and Manzambi's offside show the hosts are pushing - but Kamara and McGinn have kept things tidy at the back without conceding further clear openings.

Barcelona have settled back into the ascendancy since taking the lead, keeping the ball well and almost doubling their advantage when Yamal's effort from the box flashed just wide after a Gordon cross. Villa have had their say too though, Manzambi forcing a sight of goal set up by Jackson, while Maatsen's early booking means he'll need to be wary for the rest of the half.

Villa are behind despite a bright response. Lamine Yamal's low left-footed finish from the centre of the box gave Barcelona the lead, but since then it's been all Villa pressure - three corners won in quick succession and efforts from Cash and João Gomes as they look for an immediate reply.

Barcelona have dominated the early stages at Camp Nou, enjoying the lion's share of possession and forcing the first real chance of the game, albeit a blocked effort from inside the box. Villa have been pinned back somewhat, with Jackson caught offside and Buendía picking up an early foul, but Kamara and the back line have stood firm and the hosts are still searching for a shot on target.
